Back to Projects
Into All The World entered into an agreement in 2004 to work with
the National Association of Congregational Churches in the Philippines
(N.A.C.C.).
The
N.A.C.C. has 33 churches on three different islands (Luzon, Negroes
and Mindanao). Many of their churches are in the
Zambales area of Luzon island.
The N.A.C.C. began in 1992, founded by Nannie and Awitt Castillo.
They continue to give strong leadership to the churches. Awitt is
recovering from a stroke in 2003.
The Church also has a social action program – Community Caring.
Through this program they do micro-enterprise efforts, school scholarship
and operate several nursery schools. Melissa Fulson from Canada helps
make salt at one of these projects.
Into All The World is looking at setting up a mission
project for “home
schoolers.” Through this program, parents and some of their
older children can travel to the Philippines to take part in helping
at
the various nursery schools. A two to three week trip will cost about
$2,500 per person.
One
of the outreach opportunities in the Philippines is working with
the Aeto tribe. Pastor Butolan of this tribe
is seen here with his wife and daughter. Until recently this tribe
was considered to be one of the least reached tribes. There is now
a thriving church under the pastor.
In
2005, Jim Potter, past President of the Congregational Christian
Churches of Canada, visited the Philippines with a short term team.
To the right, we see Jim being presented with a gift by Rev. Nannie
Castillo. It is our hope in the future to send teams to assist
with leadership training and the nursery schools.
