Back to Projects
We work with Village
Evangelization Of India.
The chairman, Rev. Hallelujah Israel, a fifth generation Christian,
oversees over 200
churches in 8 states. As well as evangelization and church planting
in unchurched villages, they are involved with an academic school,
tailoring school, carpentry school, an orphanage, feeding programs,
and other
self-help programs.
In 1996, in memory of Rev. Jim Bechtel, Cayuga United Church and
other friends of the Bechtel's enabled us to start a fish farm on
1.6 acres with 100,000 fingerlings.
There are numerous opportunities to support national pastors to
go to some of India's 500,000 churchless villages.
The Fish Project
They have harvested fish from the fish pond three times now!
Each time the harvest is better than the last. However, with recent
attacks and threats from Hindu sources, they have not felt it wise
to put fish fingerlings into the pond for several months. They
may sell the current farm and relocate to a safer area. The fish
provide
much needed food, funds for mission work and supports those who
work on the fish project itself.
"Feed them a fish - tomorrow they will need another." "Teach
them how to fish - they can provide for themselves." Provide
a fish farm - it will be a great blessing.
Jim Bechtel, the Ontario Pastor this project has been given in memory
of, was both a fisherman and a fisher of men for Jesus. We thank
God for His memory.

a lady teacher to fit in with the present staff and will provide
