Drought brings urgent needs!

If you have been following world news you may have heard that a major drought is effecting East and South Africa. Some sources call it the worst drought in 60 years in that area, as it is wide-spread and hurting so many different areas. A call for help has come.

From our school in the desert

Desert life is never easy and living without water is a common problem for the people there. When drought hits, the desert people are always the hardest hit as water goes from scarce to almost impossible to find. Scripture says that it is a wise man that plans, and in planning this school a well was started long before drought came. As with most wells in Africa the well was hand-dug and so the cost of daily labour and shoring up the sides daily often means that money runs out before you hit water. This happened at the school well. The well has been finished and is producing water but at about $3,000 over budget. We are seeking people who can give money to fill this budget gap allowing the school to remain within budget, knowing that in giving you are blessing people with the gift of water. Remembering the water that Jesus spoke of at the well. You can donate quickly below.

From Lynette Ondiko

If you are not familiar with Lynette, she works with Orphans and Widows in Kisumu, Kenya. Being a single mother or alone is difficult in the best of times, but when drought comes the cost of food skyrockets. Lynette informed us that the cost of Maize-meal, a staple of the Kenyan diet, has doubled in price. As we all can imagine this makes budgeting an almost impossible task. Lynette has asked for some financial aid, and Into All The World would like to pledge $1,500 to help with this. Again you can give to this project below.

From Northern Kenya

We have also heard from another friend of Into All The World in the desert area of Northern Kenya where the drought has dried up wells and the people are suffering. It has gotten so bad that livestock are becoming weak and dying. For many desert people this livestock is the only source for their livelihood. Our missionary friends are working to set up a program to buy the dying animals and making the meat into jerky. This provides some food as well as some funds for starting up the herd when the rains return. We would like to rise $5000 for this project to help share the love of Jesus in Northern Kenya where the drought is very bad.

Most Important!

As with any project that Into All The World is involved with, finances are not the only need we have. We need prayer! I would like to close with the worlds Paul wrote to the church in Thessalonica:

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely. And may your spirit, soul, and body be kept sound and blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. Brothers, pray for us also. Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss. I charge you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the brothers. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you! (2 Thessalonians 5:23-28 emphasis mine).

Not only because it has a blessing that I wish for everyone who supports the work of Into All The World, but also as a reminder to pray for all the work that we do and to share with other brethren of the needs of God?s ministries.

You can get involved financially...

Perhaps you're someone who feels that the time commitment of short-term missions is an impossibility at this point in your life. But, you have a hunger to be involved and get in on some of the action.

No problem. You can be involved SIGNIFICANTLY beyond being one of the people "on-site" by contributing financially. We've made it extra easy by providing you with a button below to get started right now.
